‘They 100000% thought you were gonna come back on your hands and knees’: Nanny gets fired then rehired within 12 hours for the most absurd reason

Being a nanny really does sound like a pretty tough gig; not only do you have to look after someone else’s baby, but sometimes you also have to deal with the parents acting like babies themselves.

In a video posted to TikTok, booksbychloe, a full-time nanny, shared her dreadful experience being fired by the parents of the baby boy she was nannying. For full context, Chloe says she has been a nanny for about ten years and has been working for this family for about eight months. You’d think after working with them for that long that letting her go wouldn’t be such an easy decision to make, but as Chloe explains it all blew up from something so insignificant a regular person wouldn’t even think twice.

To briefly summarize the events of the video, Chloe’s employer (the parents) weren’t too happy that she couldn’t hang around after the parents got home late. The next day the mother went off at her, Chloe stood up for herself, texting the parents and asking to speak on Sunday. On Saturday evening, she was fired by text, but then on Sunday morning was rehired by the father — although he doubled down on the assertion that Chloe somehow did something wrong, claiming the reason was her “attitude.” He then asked her to come back tomorrow with a more “positive attitude.” Obviously, Chloe did not take them up on the offer to be re-hired and I can’t say I blame her.

Take the positive attitude and shove it […] the fact that he thought that he could rip me the f*** apart and then be like, ‘so you’re gonna come in with a smile on your face?’ Suck my d***. Thank you. Bye.

It all comes down to how employers talk to their employees, and honestly, I love that people are more willing to stand up to their bosses nowadays. Chloe’s story is a great example of an employer crossing the line when talking to their employee. Although being a nanny is a bit more personal, you’re looking after someone else’s kid after all, it’s a job with an employer and an employee and some people don’t seem to realize that you can’t talk to your nanny the way you would to members of your own family.

You guys have got to be absolutely out of your mind if you think I would allow you to be my boss. I have zero tolerance for abuse from superiors.

The firing and then re-hiring was just the icing on the cake. We’ve heard plenty of stories of employers treating employees as disposable and the comments responding to the story called out the manipulative play.

GOOD FOR YOU!! They 100000% thought you were gonna come back on your hands and knees asking for “forgiveness” and they can play dissaponted Mom and Dad

Others had similar stories to share.

i quit just for this reason. a LOT of parents treat nannie’s as their children and not employees. i hated being talked down to like i’m a child when i’m caring for theirs!

Hopefully Chloe’s employers have learned their lesson this time, although maybe a bit too late as they’ve already lost a good nanny.

‘He is romancing every single person in the world’: It’s not just Luke Newton’s ‘Bridgerton’ character people are falling in love with

Luke Newton has fans falling in love with him onscreen and off. The actor’s star is on the rise, and while Bridgerton fans learn more about him as Colin Bridgerton on the popular Netflix series, there are also people who are curious about his personal life. Newton has over 2 million followers on Instagram (and rising) and has been a busy man, landing interviews and photoshoots amid the hype of Bridgerton season 3.

Newton’s recent Instagram post is from an interview with WWD magazine. He posted five photos showing him rocking various designer outfits, including a Burberry jacket (on the last image) and what appears to be an Ami Alexandre Mattiussi pinstripe suit. Whether you are a fan of the English actor or not, you’ll likely agree he looks super stylish. But his fans think the photos are much more than a handsome man wearing great clothes; they are falling in love.

Fans react to Luke Newton’s drool-worthy new photoshoot

A post shared by Luke Newton (@lukenewtonuk)

The post’s comment section has been flooded with excited fans who want to share their thoughts on Luke Newton’s appearance. “He is Romancing every single person in the world, I guess,” a comment reads. Another fan shared similar thoughts, writing, “Everyone’s right, you are most like your character because you’re both bringing sexy back.”

These types of comments are a bit of a recurring theme, and other comments include, “Rewatching Bridgerton S3 for the 20th time, after seeing this and the WWD video post,” and “I wish I was this suit jacket.” The great thing about so many Bridgerton fans is they have a great sense of humor regarding their favorite leading man. “Roses are red, my face is too, that only happens by looking at you. See? I can be romantic sometimes,” an Instagram user commented.

It’s not just the photoshoot that deserves attention, though. The accompanying WWD interview is a great read because Newton discusses fame and how his co-star (and onscreen love interest) Nicola Coughlan has helped him navigate his newfound success.

“Nicola has already had an incredible career, so there’s a shift in when we are together, and we’re seen out, especially on the tour, but I’ve kind of been enjoying that when I’m on my own, I can go to my coffee shop and people know of the show and they know what I do, but it’s kind of like there’s a level of distance there,” he told the publication. “And then when I’m with Nic, it’s [crazy]. But it’s really cool and she’s so sort of gracious with it and just handles it so well. She’s a great example of how to cope with the sudden fame.”

Luke Newton is not afraid to admit when things feel too much for him, and his comments about success and his work on Bridgerton make him sound genuine and humble.

How to keep cheese from sliding off from pizza — Google’s new AI search melts under pressure of the mystery

Tech giants are scrambling to serve up the most impressive artificial intelligence, but it seems they forgot to check if their AI assistants have any common sense.

Following in the footsteps of Bing Search, Google recently launched its own AI overview feature as part of its generative search experience. The idea is simple: when you search for something, Google’s AI will provide a brief overview or answer right at the top of the results page. This would not only save time but also position Google once again as a leader in innovative search solutions.

However, the execution has been less than stellar, turning what could be a powerful tool into something of an internet joke.

One glaring example of this was when a user asked how to prevent cheese from sliding off a pizza and received the advice to use “non-toxic glue.”

I’m sorry, but if your pizza needs glue to keep the toppings on, you’ve got bigger problems than cheese slippage. As if that wasn’t bad enough, this genius recommendation was based on an 11-year-old Reddit post. Way to stay current, Google.

The issue isn’t limited to bizarre culinary tips. When asked about which presidents went to UW Madison, Google’s AI confidently listed “President Andrew Jackson” as a graduate…in 2005.

I guess Google’s AI missed the memo that Andrew Jackson died in 1845. Maybe it was too busy inventing new units of measurement, like the “kilotomato.” I can’t wait to see that one added to the metric system.

Moreover, when asked about the benefits of running with scissors, the AI declared it a great cardio exercise. I’m sure emergency room doctors everywhere would beg to differ.

Speaking of questionable recommendations, don’t even get me started on the AI’s incredibly insensitive response to a user searching for “I’m feeling depressed.” Google’s AI thought it would be a great idea to suggest the user to jump off a bridge. That’s not just inappropriate; it’s downright dangerous and callous.

Now, to be fair, the AI did clarify that this suggestion was based on a Reddit post. However, imagine if you went to a therapist and told them you were feeling depressed, and their response was, “Well, I saw on Reddit that jumping off a bridge might help.” You’d be horrified, and rightfully so. But that’s essentially what Google’s AI is doing here. By failing to filter out this dangerous content and instead presenting it as a viable option, Google’s AI is not only being insensitive but also irresponsible.

But why is this happening?

Well, it’s important to remember that Google’s AI overview feature is still in its experimental phase. The answer also lies in a little something called “AI hallucinations.” It refers to a phenomenon when an AI starts making things up or “imagining” things that aren’t actually true. These AI hallucinations aren’t just limited to Google, either. Microsoft’s Bing Chat has had its fair share of blunders, from making up fake news articles to expressing a desire to steal nuclear launch codes. But as the world’s largest search engine, Google’s missteps are under a microscope. Their image-generating AI had earlier come under fire for spewing out biased and offensive responses.

The root of the problem lies in the fact that these AI models are trained on vast amounts of online data, including social media posts, news articles, and even Reddit threads. And as we all know, the internet isn’t exactly a bastion of truth and accuracy. So when these AI assistants start spewing nonsense, it’s really just a reflection of the garbage they’ve been fed. And when you couple that with the immense pressure these tech companies are under to one-up each other in the AI race, you get a recipe for disaster.

These tech companies are so focused on winning the AI race that they’re forgetting about the actual humans who have to use their products. They’re being too selfish and busy cackling over their algorithms while the rest of us are left to deal with the fallout of their creations. These AI systems are even being used in healthcare and finance, so the risks of AI hallucinations become more serious. As for keeping that cheese on the pizza — perhaps it’s best if we stick to more traditional methods.

Go the distance with the new Rocky: Ultimate Knockout Collection that will include Rocky V and Rocky Balboa in 4K for the first time

Rocky

The Rocky movies are pretty synonymous with cinema. You’ve got every kind of movie you could want, the intimate Academy Award-winning underdog original and its closely knit sequel, the fun and cheesy spectacles of Rocky III and Rocky IV, the misguided attempt to recapture its roots with Rocky V, and the old war horse, broken down, one-last-fight inspiration of Rocky Balboa. The story behind the first movie is as engaging as the movie itself, which is why it will be the subject of a new movie from Peter Farrelly called I Play Rocky.

Blu-ray.com has unveiled that Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will now be releasing the Rocky series, sans Creed spin-offs, with the new 4K Ultra HD Rocky: Ultimate Knockout Collection. The set will encompass all versions of the commercially released films in UHD, which includes both the theatrical version of Rocky IV and the recut Rocky Vs. Drago: The Ultimate Director’s Cut, as well as a theatrical version and a director’s cut of Rocky Balboa. This set will also feature the first time both Rocky V and Rocky Balboa are available in 4K. The championship pack will be available on July 16.

Rocky

The set includes a bonus disc with the extended documentary of the Rocky Vs. Drago re-edit as well as the features from the Blu-ray release of Rocky.

Rocky I
Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone), a small-time boxer from working-class Philadelphia, is arbitrarily chosen to take on the reigning world heavyweight champion, Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers), when the undefeated fighter’s scheduled opponent is injured. While training with feisty former bantamweight contender Mickey Goldmill (Burgess Meredith), Rocky tentatively begins a relationship with Adrian (Talia Shire), the wallflower sister of his meat-packer pal Paulie (Burt Young).

Rocky II
Although working-class Philadelphia boxer Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) lost his high-profile bout with the cocky world champion Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers), his Cinderella story has caught the national sports media’s attention, and he now has the opportunity to capitalize on his sudden fame. Meanwhile, Creed is still smarting from nearly losing to some palooka no one has ever heard of, and arrogantly prods his newfound nemesis into getting back into the ring.

Rocky III
Having become the world heavyweight champion, former working-class boxer Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) is rich and famous beyond his wildest dreams, which has made him lazy and overconfident. In a double whammy, he loses his trainer and father figure Mickey (Burgess Meredith) and then has his title stolen by the arrogant, menacing challenger Clubber Lang (Mr. T). Turning to his former adversary, Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers), for help, Rocky struggles to get his old fire back.

Rocky IV
After reclaiming the boxing championship title, Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) plans to retire and live with his wife, Adrian (Talia Shire). However, during an exhibition match, Rocky’s friend Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) is mercilessly beaten to death by hulking Russian newcomer Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren). Rocky vows payback against Drago and flies to Russia to train for a Christmas Day fight. Despite their different training methods, Rocky and Drago both wage a long and intense match.

Rocky V
Recently retired boxer Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) falls on hard times after his accountant mismanages his finances. He stages a comeback of sorts by mentoring fiery young boxer Tommy (Tommy Morrison), while also trying to mend his shaky relationship with his own son, Robert (Sage Stallone). These challenges prove to be at least as tough as any fight Rocky has faced in the ring. He wonders if he will be able to meet them and raise his arms in victory again.

Rocky Balboa
Now long-retired, Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) runs a Philadelphia eatery and mourns the loss of his beloved wife, Adrian. Yearning to recapture a bit of his glory days, he plans to re-enter the ring for a few low-profile, local matches. All that changes when Rocky accepts a challenge to fight the world’s reigning heavyweight champion, Mason “the Line” Dixon (Antonio Tarver).
