Three Lawsuits Filed Against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Alleging Sexual Abuse
Cassie Ventura Settles Suit Against Combs
In November 2023, musician Sean 'Diddy' Combs faced three civil lawsuits accusing him of sexual abuse and other allegations. The first lawsuit was brought by Casandra "Cassie" Ventura, who had previously been signed to Combs' Bad Boy Records label and was involved romantically with him. Ventura claimed that Combs sexually assaulted and physically abused her multiple times during their relationship. The lawsuit was settled out of court for an undisclosed amount.
'Revenge Porn' Incident from the 90s
The second civil suit against Combs was filed by Joi Dickerson-Neal, who alleged that in the 1990s, while she was a student at Syracuse University, Combs drugged and sexually assaulted her. It is also claimed that Combs filmed and shared the encounter with friends, leading to an alleged "revenge porn" incident. Dickerson-Neal seeks to address the injuries she suffered as a result of the assault and the distribution of explicit material.
Unidentified Plaintiff Accuses Combs and Aaron Hall of Rape
A third woman, referred to as Jane Doe, filed a civil suit against Sean Combs in a New York court. The plaintiff claims that both Combs and musician Aaron Hall raped her, as well as another woman. The suit also alleges that Combs physically assaulted Jane Doe on a separate occasion, choking her until she passed out. Combs' spokesperson has denied all the allegations and suggested that they are motivated by a desire for financial gain before the expiration of the New York Survivors Act one-year window.
According to CNN, Combs' spokesperson stated that the settlement with Ventura was not an admission of guilt. The spokesperson also criticized the last-minute nature of the Dickerson-Neal lawsuit, viewing it as an exploitation of the one-year window provided by the New York Survivors Act.
